Membership Terms & Conditions
1. Membership Criteria - The Board of Directors holds the authority to define specific membership qualifications, dues, responsibilities, and privileges. The Board may also amend these membership requirements at any time, at its sole discretion, and without the need for approval from the Members.
2. Initial Membership Requirements - Membership in the Association shall consist of professional individuals or businesses that provide goods, services, or venues related to weddings or wedding events within the North Sound Region, namely Skagit, Whatcom and Island Counties. To qualify for membership, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Venues: Must be physically located within Skagit, Whatcom or Island Counties.

Service or goods providers: Must be willing to offer their services within the Skagit, Whatcom, Island or Snohomish Counties area.

Application: Must complete and submit the online Membership Application, agree to the Association’s Bylaws, Terms, and Code of Ethics as outlined below.

Fees: Must promptly pay the initial and annual Membership fees as determined by the Board of Directors.

Business entities: Must be authorized to operate in the State of Washington and comply with all applicable state, county, and local licensing and regulatory requirements. Business Members must provide a valid Washington UBI number and/or tax ID number on their Membership Application.

Communication: Must consent to receiving all official notices and communications from the Association, its Board of Directors, or any Director or Officer via email, and provide a valid email address upon application. Members are solely responsible for keeping their contact information current with the Association.
3. Member Code Of Ethics - Members of the Association agree to uphold the following ethical standards:

Conduct their business with professionalism, integrity, and fairness.
Provide clients and prospective clients with clear, accurate, and timely information regarding all prices, products, services, options, and contract terms. -
Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients, potential clients, suppliers, and fellow professionals, responding to calls, messages, and emails in a timely manner.
Respect and protect the intellectual property rights of others, including trademarks and copyrighted materials. -
Honor all contracts and agreements made with clients, suppliers, and business partners.
4. Business/Trade Names - Each Member may use only one business or trade name per membership for participation in the Association and access to its benefits. Members who own or operate multiple businesses or trade names must obtain a separate, valid membership for each name they wish to use in connection with the Association’s benefits, events, and activities.
5. Voting and Other Membership Rights - To be eligible to vote, hold office, or serve on a committee, a Member must meet all membership requirements, be current on all dues and fees, and remain in good standing with the Association. The Board of Directors reserves the right to revise or amend these eligibility criteria at its sole discretion.
6. Other Membership Privileges - In alignment with the Association’s mission, the Association will promote both itself and its Members through various marketing initiatives and media outlets. The Association will maintain a public website featuring one listing per Member, including the Member’s provided contact information and a single link to their website, along with details about upcoming Association events and meetings.
7. Termination of Membership - Membership in the Association may be terminated in accordance with such procedures and policies that the Board may establish.

A Member may resign its Membership in the Association effective upon delivery of a letter of resignation to any Officer or Director of the Association. No refund of dues will be paid.

Upon non-payment of membership dues at time of membership expiration.

Removal by way of affirmative vote of a two-third (2/3) majority of the Directors currently in office. An allocated portion of unused dues will be returned to the terminated member if removed by Directors.
8. Membership Meetings - General Membership meetings shall be held in the months of January, April, July, and October, on such day as is communicated by the Association. The Board of Directors shall set the time and location of Membership meetings in its sole discretion, and meetings shall be held at alternating Member venues. The Board of Directors may alter or eliminate one or more Membership meetings provided that at least one annual Membership meeting occurs for the purpose of voting as provided herein.
